No matter your age
...the opportunity exists to reach out and challenge yourself with new interests or interests that may have been set aside earlier in your life for any number of reasons. Now may be the time to re-examine those interests or find new ones. Have you always wanted to work with children, or the natural environment? Possibly you have always held an interest in business and helping others? Whatever your interests may be, volunteering can provide you a path toward self-discovery and growth. It can give you the opportunity to meet new people and experience new situations.

At the same time
...helping to address needs in your community! Please consider visiting with RSVP staff about community needs and how volunteers are helping to address those needs. Find out how you can make a difference in your life and the lives of others!

How is the Match Made?

When volunteers register with RSVP, they identify on their form the areas they are interested in. Those areas are entered in our computer system. When a request for a volunteer is received in the RSVP office, the appropriate volunteer match is called. If the volunteer is interested, he/she is referred to the requesting agency. The final decision is always up to the agency and the volunteer involved. Volunteers are never required to take an assignment. Training is provided as needed per assignment.

Your volunteer hours are important!!!
Identifying the number of hours you have volunteered per assignment is required data for RSVP. However, it is equally important to educate and advocate to the communities the impact today's 55+ population contribute to the health and welfare of their communities and the diversity of their services! RSVP volunteers can either submit signed hour sheets to RSVP by mail or by dropping off at the office or by their own e-mail (your e-mail address acts as your signature).

One more thing...
We commend you on your interest in volunteering. There are many community needs and many agencies trying to meet those needs. Volunteer assistance and support helps agencies "stretch themselves" to further address the mission of their agency. Many agencies couldn't survive or would be severely limited without volunteers.

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
